220 People Killed As Israeli Military Bombardment Of Palestine Continue
LAGOS MAY 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Israeli military has been bombarding the Gaza strip for more than a week, launching attacks on residential and media buildings, refugee camps, and important infrastructure.
The heaviest exchange of fire in years – sparked by unrest in Jerusalem – has killed 220 in Gaza, including 63 children, and 12 in Israel.
Thousands of Palestinian citizens of Israel have taken to the streets in towns, villages, and what are known as “mixed” cities – to assert their identity and rights.
The UN has pleaded for an end to the “utterly appalling” violence, but a Security Council meeting resulted in little action, with the US reportedly blocking a statement condemning Israel’s actions.
