Air Peace: Arewa Youths To Protest Indictment Of Onyema At US Embassy

LAGOS DECEMBER 3RD (NEWSRANGERS)-A group of northern youths has unveiled plans to mobiliise its members for a peaceful rally at the US embassy to protest the indictment of Allen Oyema over an alleged $20million fraud.

Onyema, the chairman and CEO of Air Peace was accused of money laundering by the United States Department of Justice.

However, the youth group tagged Arewa Youth Patriotic Front said the indictment and its timing were suspicious.

The group further claimed that Onyema is being framed by some foreigners in collaboration with some Nigerians to undermine his business interest across Africa.

It also claimed that Onyema is being blackmailed “for standing up in defense and unity of Nigeria,” adding that the indictment is politically motivated.

The group further threatened to reveal the names of those Nigerians allegedly collaborating with foreign partners to indict Onyema.

The Nation reports that Bagudu Joseph who is the group’s national coordinator and Yusuf Adamu, the group’s secretary, made this known in a statement.

According to Joseph, arrangements have been concluded to organize the rally at the US embassy in Nigeria to prove that Onyema was not guilty of the indictment.

“This trial is politically motivated and we will not allow it to stand, we have mobilized our members across the Northern States for the peaceful rally at the US embassy,” he said.
