Family Disowns Sanwo-Olu’s Aide, Joe Igbokwe For Celebrating Kanu’s Arrest

LAGOS JULY 3RD (NEWSRANGERS)-A well known member of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, and the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Drainage and Water Resources, Joe Igbokwe has been disowned by his family members in Nnewi, Anambra State.

According to a statement that was released by the Igbokwe Royal family of Nnewi, they condemned the unpatriotic, Igbo hating and self serving political action of their son Joe Igbokwe, who was recently seen celebrating, after the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was arrested.

According to Johnny Madukaejiaka Oforjebeogu Igbokwe, who signed the statement on behalf of the Igbokwe Royal Family, he made it clear that Joe Igbokwe’s action does not represent the views of the Igbokwe Royal Family. He want on and warned the members of the public to stop equating these bad and unpatriotic actions of Joe Igbokwe as a representative views of the Igbokwe Royal Family of Nnewi.

Part of the statement reads:

“I would like to advise the public that as a family, we are an Igbo nationalist family, we have served Nnewi for years…… We condemn the unpatriotic, Igbo hating and self serving political action of Joe Igbokwe which debase our family’s proud history and heritage….. This self serving serving noise which has been coming from Lagos has never represented the views of our family….. As a family, we stand against Engr. Joe Igbokwe (Agbalanze Nnewi) who hails from Ndi-Ojukwu in Uruagu Nnewi.”

It should be recalled that after the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was arrested, Joe Igbokwe was seen celebrating the the arrest of the IPOB leader in a special way. On several occasions, Joe Igbokwe has made some anti Igbo statements. But nevertheless, he has the right to live his life the way he wants.
