Pregnant Student Delivers Female Baby In kidnappers’ Den


LAGOS JUNE1ST (NEWSRANGERS)-A Nigerian college student, Mrs. Leritmwa Dunji has been delivered of a healthy female child in the custody of kidnappers.
Mrs. Dunji, 30, was kidnapped on Sunday in Jos, Plateau State while on her way to the hospital, it was learnt, Masarwa Kims Blog report
.
The Zawang, Jos College of Health student was already having labour signs when she was taken, it was gathered.
She was taken to a bush, believed to be somewhere near the Nigerian capital city, Abuja, some 300kms away from Jos.
Her kidnappers had reportedly demanded a ransom of N2m.
Her peasant family could however only raise N200,000 as of Tuesday when she delivered.
The kidnappers had reportedly insisted on detaining her till at least N1m was paid.
The “gun bearing men” however released the first time mother on Friday after additional N200,000 was paid.
The kidnappers were said to have used her mobile phone and bank account for negotiations and ransom collection, family sources say.
The ex highschool teacher was said to have been dropped off on Friday evening, near Farin Gada, a commercial area located near University of Jos.
Her husband who is based in Shendam, in Southern Plateau could not be reached for comments as of publishing time.
The 7years-old couple is however expected to go for medical examination today.
