Rohr Laments Over Super Eagles’ Players Fitness

LAGOS JUNE 22ND (NEWSRANGERS)-Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has stressed that not all players in his team are 100 percent fit for the tournament, but that will not be an excuse when they file out against the Swallows of Burundi on Saturday (today) in Alexandria.
Players such as Odion Ighalo, William Troost-Ekong and Ikechukwu Ezenwa nursed some minor injuries while in the Eagles camp, while some caught the flu on the team’s arrival in Alexandria.
Speaking ahead of the teams much anticipated match, the Franco-German tactician noted that his wards are not in the best shape but the fittest players will play against Burundi.
“Everyone isn’t fit. Four or five players missed one week of training and have only trained for a few days. We are not in the best shape for but we don’t complain.
“This team have solidarity perhaps even too much solidarity. But we will be ready, the fittest one will play today,” he said.
Nigeria’s will be happy to see their darling team back on the elite stage after missing out on the last two editions.
