Sanwo-Olu To Commence Repairs Of Abandoned Lagos-Badagry Expressway

LAGOS JUNE 3RD (NEWSRANGERS)-Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says repairs will commence on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in June.
He said repairs would be done from the Mazamaza area of the expressway to Okokomaiko.
The governor said this during an inspection visit to the expressway on Sunday.
He added that talks were ongoing with the contractor to resume work on site once the required financing was put in place.
He said, “In this month of June, we shall be moving to site. Work will commence on this road. We will dot the i’s and cross the t’s this week so as to move to site immediately.
“We will ensure that we speed up discussions with CCEC and move to site because work has been abandoned here for almost four years.”
However, the governor lamented that despite the completion of the highway from the National Theatre to Mazamaza, indiscriminate dumping of refuse and misuse of the road by traders had made the route impassable.
He vowed that massive clean-up would take place in the coming weeks.
Also, Sanwo-Olu said the state government would partner with the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the deplorable state of Okokomaiko, through Agbara to Seme border end of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
