Sylva, Lyon Clash Over $20m Campaign Donation As Militants Threaten War In N’Delta

LAGOS FEBRUAY 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A major war is brewing between the political camp of sacked Governor elect of Bayelsa state, Mr David Lyon and his Political godfather and Minister of state, Petroleum, Mr Timipre Sylva, over a cash gift of over $20 million from oil companies and billionaire businessman Sir Emeka Offor for the Bayelsa governorship election.

Sources close to both camps confirmed  that from Offor alone, Sylva collected $1.5m, but never released it for the election. This is aside the allegation that IOC’s and other agencies of the Petroleum Ministry that contributed and handed Sylva over $20million which he never released.

Sylva and his now errant political godson, Lyon, command a  large followership of militants and political thugs, some of whom were deployed to torch and vandalize public and private property moments after the Supreme Court nullified Lyon’s electoral victory.

Meanwhile, a band of militants have threatened to begin attacking oil installations if President Muhammadu Buhari failed to prevail on the Supreme Court to reverse their decision ousting Lyon as governor, reinforcing the belief that Lyon us their patron.

Speaking under the aegis of Reformed Niger Delta Militants said it would breach the unilateral ceasefire it declared on August 2016, and “come after” Justice Mary Odili who led the supreme court justices to deliver the judgement.

Should nothing be done to reverse the judgement, threatened RNDM in the statement, they’ll team with nine other militant groups in the Niger Delta to destroy oil installations in the region.
