Three-Years-Old Boy, Three Adults Die As Trailer Head Plunges Into River (PHOTOS)

LAGOS FEBRUARY 1ST (NEWSRANGERS)-Three- years-old boy and three adults were reported to have died when a trailer carrying twenty feet container head trunk detached from its main body while on motion and plunged into Isheri Olofin river by Kara bridge, Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Officials of Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) confirmed to NewsRangers that the head of the twenty feet containerized truck detached from it body while on motion inward Karra bridge and rammed into a motorcycle with the rider and two passengers while the head of the truck plunged into Isheri Olofi River.
“Unfortunately, a three year old boy on the motorcycle lost his life, while his mother had leg fracture and they have been moved to the hospital by FRSC.
“The head of the truck that plunged into the river was however recovered from the river with the aid of the heavy duty equipment crane with support from the local divers. Subsequently, three adult male were extricated and recovered from the truck head and handed over to FRSC officials who moved them down to the morgue,” Our source disclosed.
Other Agencies on ground include the Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos State Ambulance Service, Lagos State Fire Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Police Force from Ojodu Abiodun and Isheri Police Division and OP Mesa.
The General Manager LASEMA, Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu assured that proper investigation would be conducted on the incident, just as he advised motorist, especially articulated truck drivers to always drive within the speed limit and ensure they adherence with road safety regulations.
