AFCON: Nigeria Super Eagles Beats Egypt Pharaoh To Lead Group D

LAGOS JANUARY 11TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Nigeria’s Super Eagles are currently springing a surprise in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group D opener at the Stade Roumde Adjia in Garous, Cameroon.

The Eagles have not only neutralised Pharaohs of Egypt dangerman Mohamamed Salah but have also so far outplayed the seven-time African champions.

Moses Simon has been a thorn in the flesh of the Egyptians and one of his daring moves on the left flank ended in goal when Joe Aribo found “Senior Man” Kelechi Iheanacho, who fired home a fierce left footer into the net to break the deadlock in the 30th minute.

The match is presently into half time break, with Nigeria enjoying a goal lead.

“Good start for our darling Super Eagles at AFCON. Fine goal by Senior Man, Kelechi Iheanacho.

“Moses Simon was easily the Man of the Match, with a blistering performance down the left flank.

“I love the Super Eagles of Nigeria. I love my Akwa United and all the Akwa Ibom teams,” Governor of Cross River State, Emmanuel Udom stated.
