CCTV Reveals Man Who Burns Company N10m Truck After Stealing N180,000

LAGOS JANUARY 20TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Police intelligence team from Ikotun Division led by CSP Adagba Johnson has arrested a 31-year old company worker in Lagos, Ajibola Gbenga, who allegedly burnt the company’s truck worth N10m after he stole N180,000 in order to cover his track.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Food Concept Pioneer Company located at Ikotun-Isolo Road in Ikotun, Lagos.

However, the suspect, Gbenga, was captured by CCTV and he was eventually arrested.

It was gathered that Gbenga discovered that there was money inside the truck, which had not been paid into the company’s account and he decided to steal it.
He was said to have stolen the money, went ahead to burn the Isuzu truck valued at N10m and  continued to work in the company.

However, when the Management watched the CCTV footage, it was discovered that it was Gbenga that stole the money and thereafter burnt the vehicle.

The matter was then reported to the Police; Gbenga was arrested and detained at the Station for investigation but he denied.
The CCTV footage was played for him to watch and he saw every of his movement before he finally confessed that he actually did it.

Having been found culpable, he was subsequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for arson and stealing.

He pleaded not guilty before the Court.

The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, then asked the Court to give a date to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. E.O. Ogunkanmi, granted him bail in the sum of N5m with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in Correctional Centre pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 10th February, 2021, for hearing.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that after Gbenga had stolen the money from the truck, he used the money to play lottery, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, and he eventually lost.
