Despite Police Presence Another Youth Shot Dead On Lagos Island

LAGOS OCTOBER 11TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Despite the presence of Special Anti-robbery squad and Lagos State Special Taskforce on special offences in Lagos Island, another youth identified as Ike (Plastic) was on Tuesday night shot dead by rival group from Onola area of the Island.
The deceased who was learnt to be a carpenter and was among Okepopo boys that have crisis with Onola boys recently was shot on the head by a 5-man gang at about 8.11pm on Tuesday at Thomas Street, Lagos Island by the invaders.
According to eye witness, the invaders came with hired Keke-Marwa through Adeniji-Adele road, armed with two guns and stopped the tricycle at the front of where the deceased and other youths were discussing.
The incident created great commotion to residents in the area and adjacent streets where everyone was running for their lives.
The presence of Police however cooled down the tension.
Our source alleged that the body of the deceased was on ground till about 7am on Wednesday as a result of the late youth’s group who stormed the scene alleged armed with dangerous weapons chased away the four policemen assigned to guard the remains of the dead youth. They took the body away for cleanliness and later buried at Okesuna burial ground.
