JUST IN: Buhari Defeats Senate On Election Sequence

LAGOS APRIL 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Senate on Wednesday gave up its position on the amendment of the sequence of elections in the country.
The decision was reached at plenary on Wednesday.
President Muhammadu Buhari had refused to append his signature to the amended Electoral Act Bill as sent to him by the National Assembly.
While the Independent National Electoral Commission wants the presidential election to hold first, the National Assembly wants it reversed to come first.
Buhari had in his letter to the National Assembly given the change of sequence of elections as one of the reasons for his refusal to sign the Bill into law.
