OML30: Heritage Energy Promises Sustainable, Continued Patronage Of Local Vendors


LAGOS OCTOBER 14TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL) has reassured local vendors and community contractors in OML30, of sustainable and continued patronage.
Mr. Edesiri Akpomudjere, Manager, Government and Community Relations, gave the assurance at a meeting with the Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Hon. Angelle Godbless, at Heritage’ CRD conference room, Edjeba, Warri.
Akpomudjere said there was need for all stakeholders and government to collaborate to curb oil theft (bunkering activities), adding that the worrisome situation whereby youths of host communities will not grant access to contractors to contain a spill should be discouraged.
He said, “On greater community participation, this is one of the requirements of our GMoU and this is reflected in employment opportunities, contracting, scholarship awards, pipeline surveillance contracts which are better handled by local contractors for obvious reasons”.
Akpomudjere acknowledged the efforts and commitment of the Local Government authorities within Heritage’s areas of operations in OML30, pointing out that Heritage had made significant achievements.
Hon. Angelle Godbless, Executive Chairman, Burutu Local Government Council, said the people in riverine areas were seriously impoverished and pleaded with the company for a helping hand to enable the council provide basic amenities and infrastructural development for the people.
