Police Uncover Illegal Blood Bank In ‘Face-Me-I- Face- You’ Apartment With Under Age Children As Donors

LAGOS JUNE 13TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Forty-five -year -old Achegbulu has been arrested for allegedly operating an illegal blood bank in his one-room ‘Face-Me-I- Face-You’ apartment in Bariga area of Lagos State.
He was also alleged to be using under aged children as donors.
Recovered from the suspect, were seven pints of blood and other medical instruments. The suspect is currently facing interrogation at the Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
Achegbulu was arrested after he allegedly took four pints of blood from 17 -years- old Ayomide Adesanya. He took two points each for two days and the victim developed complications.
A police source said the suspect used to lure underaged children who he would pay N2, 000 each while he would resell for N7, 000.
Lagos state police public relations officer, SP Chike Oti, said when the information came to Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, he led operatives of the Command to Bariga to see the blood bank and paid a visit to the victim at the hospital.
“The illegal blood bank was uncovered after the last victim was hospitalized. The victim, Adesanya, became weak after donating four pints of blood and later collapsed and he is currently receiving treatment at the Bariga Hospital.
“The mother told us that the daughter’s friend informed them of Adesanya’s condition when she saw him on a commercial motorcycle in a terrible condition. The illegal blood vendor has confessed that he used to sell blood to a hospital in Lagos for N7, 000.
The suspect told Journalists that he is a trained technician and have been operating the blood bank for five years now.
