Rivers Police Launch Manhunt For Kidnappers of 16 Travelers Along East-West Road


LAGOS JULY 12TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Rivers State police have launched manhunt for gunmen that abducted sixteen travellers along East-West road.
Suspected gunmen were reported to have kidnapped sixteen travelers along the Rumuji–Elele axis of the East-West Road in Rivers state.
The victims were travelling from the Ekeki Motor Park in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when their vehicle was intercepted by the suspected kidnappers and taken into the bush.
Reacting to the abduction of the travelers, Rivers State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that a manhunt for the kidnappers has commenced and efforts are on to rescue the victims.
“We are aware of the pockets of criminal activities along the East-West Road, we are doing our best to contain these criminal activities, especially kidnapping.
“We have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers and efforts are on to rescue the victims,” he stated.
