Wilder Rushed To Hospital Over Burst Eardrum after Fury Gruesome Defeat

LAGOS FEBRUARY 23RD (NEWSRANGERS)-Deontay Wilder was rushed to hospital after losing to Tyson Fury in their heavyweight title rematch amid concerns of a burst eardrum.

After four rounds of Sunday morning’s mega Las Vegas contest, blood was seen coming out of the American’s left ear.

Each break in the fight saw Wilder’s camp tend to the wound as concerns he was battling on while concussed grew.

And with Fury in total control, his corner threw in the towel during round seven.

Although Wilder responded furiously to his camp’s decision, he was quickly taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Having been seen receiving stitches to his ear in the dressing room post-fight, he did not appear at his scheduled press conference and left the MGM Grand for checks.

Along with the suspected burst eardrum, the 34-year-old also carried a split lip that cut early on in the WBC title clash.

British viewers waking up in the early hours of Sunday morning were rewarded with an enthralling contest that Fury dominated.

As the Gypsy King laid into his rival, Wilder hit the canvas a number of times due to both pushdowns and by simply tripping over.

But the Bronze Bomber spoke up his desire to reclaim his world championship belt immediately after the fight.

He stated: “I’m doing good. Things like this happen. The best man won tonight, but my corner threw in the towel and I was ready to go out on my shield.

“I had a lot of things going on heading into this fight. It is what it is, but I make no excuses tonight. I just wish my corner would have let me go out on my shield.

“I’m a warrior. He had a great performance and we will be back stronger.

“Even the greatest have lost and came back, that is just part of it. You just take it for what it is. I can make no excuses tonight. I had a lot of complications.
