Appeal Court Dismisses Suspected Kidnap Kingpin, Evans Demand For Release Of His Trucks

LAGOS AUGUST 13TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The case in appeal number CA/L/1105/2018 between Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike( a.k.a Evans) v. The Inspector General of Police & 4 Ors was dismissed yesterday in favour of the Police.

The Appellant Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike (a.k.a. Evans), filed an application for the enforcement of his Fundamental Right for the release of his trucks from the Police custody at the Federal High Court ,Lagos.

The application was dismissed by Justice Shagari of the Federal High Court, Lagos.

Appellant was dissatisfied with the Judgement of the Court and as a consequence, his Counsel Olukoya Ogungbeje, Esq. filed an appeal before the Court of Appeal,Lagos Division challenging the judgment.

 In opposition to the appeal, Emmanuel I. Eze, Esq counsel for the Police attached to the State CID, Panti, Yaba,Lagos challenged the appeal.

In it’s Judgement yesterday, the 12th day of August,2021, the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit and parties are to bear their respective costs.
