Doctor Confirms Osimhen Fit To Return To Action After Recovery From Unconsciousness
LAGOS MARCH 5TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Head of neurosurgery at Pineta Grande, Alfredo Bucciero has certified Victor Osimhen fit to return to action for Napoli, describing the Nigeria striker as a force of nature.
Speaking on Radio Kiss Kiss on Tuesday and as reported by calcionapoli24, Bucciero said the 23-year-old who slumped and was rushed to hospital in 4-2 defeat to Atalanta on February 22, almost cried when he told him to stay out of action for a week.
He disclosed that the Nigeria striker was fit enough to return to action, adding there was nothing to worry about any more, but said he wasn’t sure if the former Lille star will feature in weekend’s Serie A tie against Bologna.
He said: “The boy s fine and training normally. There is nothing to heal, we are doing this only for prevention. I don’t know if he will be called up for Bologna because these are things that belong to Napoli. However, I want to clarify that from the neurosurgical point of view there is nothing. We have been scrupulous to be even more certain. There is no heartache. Already on Tuesday he wanted to return, Victor was almost crying when I told him as a precaution he had to say still for a week: this boy is a force of nature.”
Osimhen, who was out of action due to COVID-19 infection, and has been training separately from the rest of the team was conspicuously absent on Tuesday when Napoli battled Sassuolo to 3-3 draw on the road.
