Labour Suspends Warning Strike, Workers To Resume Tuesday


LAGOS SEPTEMBER 31ST (NEWRANGERS)-Organised labour, comprising The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and United Labour Congress (ULC) on Sunday announced the suspension of its warnings strike, just three days after it commenced the industrial action.
The suspension according to Labour was sequel to the receipt of of a formal invitation to a reconvened meeting of the tripartite committee negotiating the new minimum wage which will hold on Thursday.
The NLC President Ayuba Wabba disclosed this on Sunday, citing a firm commitment by the Federal Government to reconvene the tripartite committee on the new minimum wage.
By this development, workers are expected to resume on Tuesday after the Independence Day public holiday on Monday.
