PDP Holds Emergency Closed-Door Meeting Over Exit Of Seven NWC Members

LAGOS AUGUST 4TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is currently in an emergency meeting over the resignation of some deputy national officers of the party.

The meeting, a party source said, is not unconnected with the leadership crisis over pressure being brought on the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, to resign his office.

THEWILL reports that at least seven members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) had on Tuesday resigned their offices.

The party chieftains, in different letters addressed to the National Secretary of the party, alleged they were being sidelined and unfairly treated by Secondus.

While they promised to remain loyal to the PDP, the development, a party source said, is part of the clamour for a leadership change in the party.
