2017/18 Season: SWAN Lectures Bayelsa Football Clubs On How To Gain Promotion

LAGOS MARCH 22ND (NEWSRANGERS)-History was made in Bayelsa state as the management of Bayelsa Queen Football and Bayelsa United Football Club and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria ( SWAN ) plan to build synergy on how the two clubs would use the media to gain promotion ahead of the NNL/NWFL 2017/2018 season.
In their separate lectures, a sport journalist, Finecountry Davis urged the management of both clubs to take advantage of the media to build perception and interact with fans.
He equally advised the teams to embark on sales of branded T- shirts , establish cordial relationship with the public and community, stressing that the media can expose discipline and sanction of recalcitrant players.
He explained that for the teams to gain promotion they need to constantly engage the media to a promote the players, build brand and patronage for the clubs.
Also speaking , the SWAN Chairman , Bayelsa State chapter, Alambo Fred Datonye emphasized on the need for the teams to build friendly relationship between the fans and supporters , adding that unruly fans and supporters can make and mar chances of any clubs that aspire to gain promotion especially in a home match.
He therefore implored the management of both teams to accept criticisms as a welcome development to the clubs growth.
In their responses, the Chairman of Bayelsa Untied Football Club, Tony Ogola and Chairman of Bayelsa Queens Football Club, Ebiki Timitimi stated that no man is island of knowledge and applauded the initiative of SWAN and promised to carry members along.
They also bemoaned lack of philanthropists in Bayelsa state and solicit from indigenes to promote sports and cautioned players against u ruling behaviors to avoid sanctions and disciplines.They also urged fans to comport themselves as their actions can lead to banning the clubs from their own stadium.
