Bayelsa Court Issues Warrant Of Arrest On UBA Plc, Four Staff Over Alleged Fraud

LAGOS FEBRUARY 22ND (NEWSRANGERS)-The Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa presided over by HON.  JUSTICE A. O AWOGBORO, has issued warrant of arrest on UBA PLC and four (4) members of it’s staff for failing to appear in court even after they were served charge NO:FHC|YNG|10c|2019 by substituted means. 

It would be recalled that on 10th February 2020 when the  matter came up before the court, the Defendants, UBA PLC, and four of it’s staff Namely NDUBISI OGU, JOHN IYIBOR, IHEAKA ONUOHA AND OKWESILI UGOCHUKWU were all absent from court.

Based on the application of Prosecuting Counsel N.A TIMOTHY-HART Esq of Department of Public Prosecution Federal Ministry Of Justice  asked the Federal high court to issue warrant of Arrest  against the Defendants in line with SECTION 131 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, the court granted the prosecuting counsel’s application and ordered the insuance of warrant of arrest on UBA PLC and four (4) of it’s staff. 

UBA PLC and four (4) of it’s staff are facing CHARGE NO: FHC/YNG/10c/2020 at the Federal High Court,Yenagoa,Bayelsa state for offences of conspiracy,  stealing, fraud and cyber crime.  

They are alledged to have unlawfully caused the reversal of the sum of  N33,699,450,00 already credited to the bank account of the Registrar Federal High Court,Yenagoa by relying on a non existing Court Of Appeal Order to cause the said reversal. 

The said warrant of arrest ordered the Inspector General of Police to arrest UBA PLC and the said four (4) of it’s staff and bring them before the court on 30th March 2020 which is the next adjourned date.
