FIFA Under 17:Golden Eaglets To Face Tough Opponents, Netherland In Round Of 16

LAGOS NOVEMBER 4TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Nigeria will face European side the Netherlands in the round of 16 at the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.

The Golden Eaglets lost their last game against Australia but maintained top spot in Group B while the Netherlands qualified as one of the best placed fourth teams.

Manu Garba’s side started their campaign with a 4-2 win over Hungary then narrowly defeated Ecuador by 3-2 in their second game.

But there was no coming back from behind for the Eaglets against Australia as the Joey’s ran away with a 2-1 win in their final group game.

On the other hand, the Netherlands started their campaign poorly with a 3-0 loss to Japan and a 3-1 loss to Senegal before defeating the United States by 4-0 to qualify.

The match between the Golden Eaglets and Netherlands will be played on Wednesday (12am), November 6, at the at the Estadio Olimpico, Goiania.

The winner of the encounter will come up against either Argentina or Paraguay in the quarter finals.
