Fulani Herdsman Cuts Off Police Inspector’s Head
LAGOS JULY 16TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A Fulani herdsman has killed a police inspector, Umaru Danladi, while trying to resist arrest after allowing his cows to destroy farmlands in Kaoje, Kebbi State.
The late inspector was attached to Kaoje Police Division.
Daily Sun gathered that a farmer had reported to the police station that a herder had led his cattle to his farm to graze on his crops. Subsequently, the divisional police officer detailed a patrol team to arrest the herdsman.
It was gathered that, while the policemen were taking the herder to their van, he used his machete to cut off Danladi’s head and attempted to escape.
A police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity said, “Our men went after the killer herder, overpowered him and brought him to the police station.”
The state’s police public relations officer, DSP Mustapha Sulieman, confirmed the incident to Daily Sun saying, “we have arrested the herder, Babuga Many Kuaara, for killing the officer. He has confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted accordingly.” he said.
