I Have Been In Prison Since 2016 Without Trial- Suspected Edo Escapee Inmate

Disturbance reportedly broke out in the state after hoodlums took over the ongoing EndSars protest in the state.
According to news and video footage making rounds, inmates of a prison known as “White House” in Oko in Benin, Edo State have escaped.
Following this recent development, this writer’s attention was drawn to a 30 seconds video shared yesterday, 19th of October, 2020, of an alleged escapee who summarized his ordeal that landed him in prison.
The alleged escapee can be seen in a shirt with number “45” written on it as he tries to catch his breath. The video starts with the alleged escapee saying “2016”.
A voice behind the camera can he heard asking, “since 2016, wetin you do?”. In response the alleged escapee claims that he didn’t commit any crime but was a farmer in the village, he added that he was arrested along with someone else who the police came for.
The man claimed further that the police force heaped allegations on him and falsely accused him killing a victim. According to him he has been in prison since 2016 without a court trial.
The alleged escapee walked on as he tried to catch his breath, while the voice behind the camera asked him to thank the people of Edo State.
